AI voice cloning for YouTube: voice-overs in your own voice
Recording a YouTube voice-over means a quiet room, a good microphone and many takes. With a cloned voice, you record a short sample once, then turn each script into audio in your own voice, and fix a sentence by editing the text instead of recording it again. Voqia does this in the browser, in 9 languages, with MP3 files ready for your video editor.

Why use your cloned voice for YouTube
- Your viewers hear your voice, not a stock narrator that thousands of other channels already use.
- A mistake in the script? Edit the sentence and generate it again: no microphone, no new take.
- Your voice stays the same from one video to the next, whatever your energy or the noise around you that day.
- The same video can exist in 9 languages, still in your voice.
Make a YouTube voice-over in 5 steps
- Sign in to voqia.fr with Google. The free account includes 1 cloned voice and 10 minutes of audio, with no credit card.
- Clone your voice once: in the Voice cloning tool, read the suggested text aloud for 10 to 50 seconds, in a quiet room.
- Paste your script, one part at a time (up to 5,000 characters per generation), and choose the language.
- Generate the audio, listen to it in the browser and download it as MP3.
- Drop the MP3 files into your video editor and place them on your footage, just like a recorded voice-over.
One channel, 9 languages
Your cloned voice can read English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, German, Hindi and Arabic. Write or translate the script in the target language, choose that language, and generate it: you get a voice-over in your own voice for each audience, for example a separate video per language.
Part of your accent may carry over into the other languages. Listen to each version before you publish it, ideally with a native speaker, and test the languages you need with your free minutes first.
Do you need to disclose a cloned voice on YouTube?
YouTube asks creators to disclose realistic content made or altered with AI, through a disclosure setting in YouTube Studio when they upload. In its help page on this policy, YouTube lists "Cloning one's own voice to create voice overs or dubs" among the minor edits that do not require disclosure, as well as using AI to help write a script.
The rules change if the content could mislead viewers: YouTube lists "Making it appear as if someone gave advice that they did not actually give" among the examples that require disclosure. Only clone your own voice or a voice whose owner has agreed, and check YouTube's current policy before you publish.
Script tips for a natural voice-over
- Write the way you speak: short sentences and simple words read better than written prose.
- Use punctuation to set the pace: commas give short pauses, a new paragraph a longer one.
- Write numbers, dates and abbreviations the way they should be said ("twenty twenty-six", "kilometers").
- Generate the script section by section: it is easier to redo one paragraph than the whole narration, and it keeps each file easy to place in your editor.
- Record your sample with the tone of your channel: calm for tutorials, more energetic for entertainment.
How many minutes do you need?
Minutes are counted on the length of the audio you generate, and each generation counts, including the paragraphs you generate again. A 60-second Short uses about 1 minute; a 10-minute narration uses about 10 minutes per language.
| Plan | Price | Audio | Cloned voices | For example |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | 10 minutes | 1 | One 10-minute narration, or about ten 60-second Shorts |
| Starter | €4.99 | 60 minutes | 2 | Six 10-minute videos |
| Pro | €9.99 | 3 hours | 4 | Eighteen 10-minute videos, or six videos in 3 languages |
| Business | €24.99 | 10 hours | 10 | Sixty 10-minute videos |
Already have videos? Get the script back first
To make another language version of an existing video, you first need its script. Voqia's File mode transcribes MP4 and MOV videos (up to 500 MB) into timestamped text, with the same minutes. You then adapt or translate the text and generate it in the new language with your cloned voice.
Voqia does not download videos from a YouTube link: upload the video file you exported, or the original from your computer.
What Voqia does not do
- It does not edit video or sync the audio to the picture: you place the MP3 in your own editor.
- It has no library of ready-made voices: every voice-over uses a cloned voice.
- It covers 9 languages; other tools offer many more.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my cloned voice for YouTube videos?
Yes. Voqia generates MP3 voice-overs in your own cloned voice, which you can use in your videos, within Voqia's terms of use. Clone only your own voice or a voice you have permission to use.
Do I have to disclose an AI voice-over on YouTube?
According to YouTube's help page on AI disclosure (checked on October 1, 2026), cloning your own voice to create voice-overs or dubs is a minor edit that does not require disclosure. Realistic content that makes a real person appear to say something they did not say does require it.
In which languages can I make YouTube voice-overs?
English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, German, Hindi and Arabic, all with the same cloned voice.
How long can a voice-over be?
Up to 5,000 characters per generation, which is several minutes of speech. For a longer video, generate the script in several parts and place them one after the other in your editor.
Is it free?
You can start for free: 1 cloned voice and 10 minutes of audio, without a credit card. Then one-time packs from €4.99 for 60 minutes, with no subscription.
