Voice cloning without a subscription: pay once

Most AI voice cloning tools bill you every month, whether you generate audio or not. Voqia works differently: 1 cloned voice and 10 minutes are free, then you buy a pack of minutes once, with no automatic renewal. Here is how the two models compare, with real numbers, and when a subscription is still the better deal.

1 free cloned voice and 10 free minutes · no credit card · no subscription.

Why voice cloning is usually a subscription

On October 1, 2026, ElevenLabs ($6 per month), Cartesia ($5 per month), Hume ($3 per month), Gradium ($13 per month) and Fish Audio ($15 per month) sell voice cloning as a subscription. Hume and Gradium also include cloning in their free plan, with a limited volume (and no commercial use at Gradium): beyond that, you subscribe. At Fish Audio, for example, unused credits do not roll over to the next month.

Among the services we compared, only Voqia and Clone.fr sell one-time packs.

Voqia packs

  • One-time card payment through Stripe: nothing is charged afterwards.
  • Purchased minutes stay on your account, with no expiry date.
  • The same minutes work for voice cloning, text-to-speech and transcription.
  • Prices are in euros.

Subscription or pack: the math

A video every now and then

For a 5-minute voice-over, the 10 free minutes are enough. For a few videos a year, the Starter pack (€4.99, 1 hour) covers it, while a $6 per month subscription adds up to $72 over a year if you leave it running.

15 minutes a month for 6 months

That is 90 minutes in total: the Pro pack (€9.99, 3 hours) covers it and leaves you 90 minutes. The same need costs $36 over 6 months with a $6 subscription, $30 at $5 per month, or $18 with Hume Starter at $3 per month, including the months without a project.

Several hours every month

For large, regular volumes, a subscription can be cheaper. Cartesia Pro announces about 133 minutes of speech per month for $5 (about $2.25 per hour if you use it all), and Gradium XS about 5 hours for $13 per month. Voqia's Business pack works out at about €2.50 per hour, with no commitment.

What "no subscription" means at Voqia

  • No automatic renewal: you buy another pack only if you need one.
  • No credit card to start: the free plan only needs a Google account.
  • No lost minutes: a pack bought today still works next year.
  • More cloned voices with each pack: 2 (Starter), 4 (Pro) or 10 (Business), always with the consent of each person.

When a subscription is still the better choice

  • You produce audio every day, in large amounts, and use your whole allowance each month.
  • You need features Voqia does not offer: professional voice cloning, studio projects, a library of ready-made voices, an API, or more than 9 languages.

Method

Prices of other services were checked on October 1, 2026, on their official pages, billed monthly, and are shown in US dollars as on their websites. The calculations do not take into account the credits or minutes included in each subscription, which vary from one service to another. Check the offers before you choose.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a voice cloning tool without a subscription?

Yes. Voqia sells one-time packs of minutes: €4.99 (1 hour, 2 voices), €9.99 (3 hours, 4 voices) or €24.99 (10 hours, 10 voices). The first cloned voice and 10 minutes are free. Clone.fr also sells one-time packs.

Do purchased minutes expire?

No. Minutes bought on Voqia stay on your account with no expiry date.

What happens when my minutes run out?

Nothing is charged automatically. You can buy a new pack if you want to keep going.

Can I clone several voices without a subscription?

Yes, with each person's permission: the Starter pack allows 2 cloned voices, Pro 4 and Business 10.

Is a one-time pack always cheaper than a subscription?

No. For occasional use it usually is, because you do not pay for empty months. If you generate several hours of audio every month, a subscription such as Cartesia Pro can cost less per minute.
